On Wednesday evening, October 24, 2018, St. Patrick's Seminary celebrated the rite of admission to candidacy for Seminarian Patrick Klekas from the Diocese of Reno. The Vicar General from the Diocese of Reno, Fr. Chuck Durante, was present for the ceremony.
The rite of admission to candidacy is celebrated after it has been determined that the intention of the seminarian aspiring towards Holy Orders has the necessary qualifications and sufficient maturity. Patrick expressed his intentions towards Holy Orders and it was accepted by the Vicar General on behalf of Bishop Randy Calvo.
Patrick's ordination would occur sometime after he completes his studies at St. Patrick's Seminary in the spring.
