Father Kevin Kennedy was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. He attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Elementary School in Belmont, Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, the University of San Francisco, Santa Clara University, and St. Patrick’s Seminary & University.
As a layman, he spent a number of years in social service work, including the St. Anthony Foundation in San Francisco, focused on the multiple needs of the homeless and of delinquent youth.
Fr. Kennedy began his priestly formation within the Discalced Carmelite Order, before transferring to the Archdiocese of San Francisco. He was ordained at St. Mary’s Cathedral, and has served as a priest of the Archdiocese for the past twenty three years, engaged in both parish ministry and hospital chaplaincy.
He is currently the Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Russian Byzantine Catholic Church, and the Administrator of St. Monica-St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, in San Francisco.
Fr. Kennedy has regularly provided retreats and spiritual conferences for various communities as well as individual spiritual direction for priests, seminarians, and laity. His interests include history, Christian worship (East and West), and contemporary ecumenical dialogue.
