Kristen Kearns received her B.A. in Physics from the University of Chicago and her M.A. in Religion and the Arts from Yale University. She completed her Ph.D. in Theology at the University of Chicago with a dissertation on the use of analogy in the work of Hans Urs von Balthasar, particularly in his understanding of divine love. She has taught undergraduate Religious Studies, Philosophy, and Humanities courses at several institutions including Phoenix College, Arizona State University, and the University of Chicago. She also worked in Student Services as the Director of the Learning Center at Phoenix College, coordinating tutoring and academic support programs. She served as the director of youth and family ministry at Transfiguration Episcopal Church in San Mateo. Her current academic interests include investigating the relationship between the writing process and spirituality.
