With tens of thousands of the Pro-life community, St. Patrick's Seminary's seminarians, sisters, faculty, and staff participated on Jan. 25th in the annual Walk for Life - West Coast. They marched two miles from Civic Center Plaza down Market Street to Embarcadero Plaza/Ferry Building.
The day started with the Walk for Life Mass at 9:30 AM in St. Mary's Cathedral. Archbishop Alexander Sample from the Archdiocese of Portland, OR was the main celebrant. He later marched with the crowd. Archbishop Sample noted the enthusiastic participation by many of young people were involved in the pro-life movement. "All the young people," he said. "That's the amazing thing is that this crowd is mostly young people who call themselves the pro-life generation."
