Candlemas, known as the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus Christ, the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the Feast of the Holy Encounter, commemorates the presentation of Jesus at the Temple. One can read the account in the Gospel of Luke 2:22–40.
Fr. Mark Doherty blessed the candles that we will use throughout the year. These candles are a symbol of Jesus Christ, who is the Light of the World. He then celebrated Holy Mass for the on-campus St. Patrick's community.
