At the beginning of the Spring semester, the community welcomed our new faculty members who took the Oath of Fidelity and the Profession of Faith.  During Evening Prayer, President-Rector Rev. George Schultze, SJ called our four new instructors to the Main Altar.  While touching the book of the Gospels, each new instructor recited the Oath of Fidelity and the Profession of Faith.  Fr. Schultze spoke about the role of our faculty members during his homily: “All of this [intellectual] tradition is so rich to help us understand our moment and also the future… But we have to come to the recognition at some point in our human experience that we have a Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ.”  Hence the teaching and personal witness of our faculty members who publicly proclaim their absolute fidelity to the Magisterium is crucial at a seminary “because it’s about the whole person, not only about education, but the formation of who we are.”

Making the Oath of Fidelity and Profession of Faith this semester were: Rev. John Boettcher, Mr. Austin Choate, Rev. Brandon Macadaeg, and Rev. Andrew Younan.
