On Saturday, April 7th, five of our Theology III seminarians were ordained to the transitional diaconate for the Archdiocese of San Francisco, the Diocese of Sacramento, and the Diocese of Stockton. Also ordained to the transitional diaconate were two Theology III seminarians in formation at Mount Angel Seminary for the Diocese of Sacramento. Bishop Larry Silva, alumnus of STPSU (Class of 1975) and bishop of Honolulu, presided over the ordination at St. Pius Church in Redwood City, CA. He shared with the newly ordained deacons the world’s need for healing, their call to service, and the reality of miracles in our lives. Afterwards, the STPSU community was joined by alumni, friends, and family for a celebratory reception back at the Seminary.
